The Great American Eclipse

Oh, hello there 2017. Nice to meet you! It's been far too long since I've updated this blog, and I plan to do a catchup post (Lots of fantastic new shots and adventures have been had!) but first I need to do a post for something incredible I got to see.

I was able to head on up to Crossville, Tennessee to witness the 2017 Total Eclipse. The pictures I took did the eclipse absolutely no justice. Yeah the pictures are cool, but are absolutely nothing compared to seeing it in person. There will be another Total Eclipse crossing the United States in 2024 and I cannot recommend it enough for you to go see it.

That said, you're here for pictures!

The night before the Eclipse was a bon fire and beautifully clear night skies!

The following two shots came right after totality when the moon was just coming off of the sun. I'm not sure what is going on with the lens flare, but I absolutely love these shots.

This shot is fun because I caught some sort of satellite (???) in the frame. I don't think it's an airplane, but I could be wrong.

And then finally this picture. The only shot I have that shows how the entire sky went into twilight with the warm glow around the entire horizon.

For JUST the eclipse, those are my best shots. I have plenty more shots from the entire vacation (also spent some time in Atlanta and Cincinnati!) So I'll be doing a post for those as well as a video project I'm going to take a stab at.

Until then, feel free to check out my work from last year and look forward to upcoming updates!
